1st April 2015

A great April Fool’s Day meeting and no practical jokes!!
There was an official welcome for new members Alka Bagga of Critical Mission Computing who is an IT Software Developer and also Heidi Rolfe of Moondaisy who has taken up our Ladieswear and Accessories category.
Our guest speaker was Rod Craig, CEO of the University Women’s Club – a fantastic hidden gem of a venue in Mayfair.  It was interesting to find out more about the facilities at the club, some of the events and how membership could work for us Laptoppers!
It was lovely to meet some new faces too so thanks to Jane Barnes from Bromley Mencap. Lee Jennings from Rose Eva Flowers and Lucy Pleass from Bromley Women’s Aid for joining us.
Quote of the Month?

‘I know a journalist!’ from practically everyone in response to Emma’s request for contacts #networkinginaction

Every year we award a free membership to a local charity.  The position is reviewed at our AGM in April and so, over the past two months, we’ve had a number of additional charity representatives at our meetings as part of the review process.  It’s been interesting to learn more about Bromley Mencap, Bromley Women’s Aid and the Emily Ash Trust and, of course, our existing Charity representative, St Christopher’s Hospice.

Helen Colechin of the HR Dept would like to speak to businesses that have staff expecting a baby
Belinda O’Grady of SE20 Magazine would like to hear from businesses interested in advertising on the SE20 Enewsletter which goes to around 400 businesses every month.
