6th August 2014

It might be the holiday season but there’s no rest for the Laptops members – our August meeting was the customary blend of information, business exchange and fun.  The fact that several members were off sunning themselves meant that we got to meet two new faces who came to sub – Vicki from K and O Pest Control and Denise Meade-Hill from Transitions Career Management & Training.  It was also lovely to see past member Sue O’Connor from Susan O’Connor Interiors again.
This month’s brilliant information topic was presented by Karen Cheeseman of Grugeon Reynolds Accountants.  Karen talked us through their Incubator and Accelerator Clubs – aimed at new and growing businesses respectively.  The clubs run over four two hour sessions and provide invaluable advice, information and support on key issues such as goal setting and basic accounts and tax for start ups to developing a five year plan, putting in place a system for regular business performance review and benchmarking for those who are more established.
