1st March 2017

A lively meeting but also slightly emotional as we said au revoir to Sherry Bailey and Helen Colechin; we wish them both well and thank them for their contribution.  We are particularly grateful to Helen who has also served as an extremely valuable member of our committee and helped to grow and develop Laptops into the successful organisation it is today.  Helen is taking on a slightly different role at the HR Dept and her focus will be more towards Croydon and Sutton so it makes sense for her to hand her Laptops baton to the equally lovely Maria Kurek.  We are also delighted to welcome new members Kate Thompson from Utilities Warehouse Discount Club and Julia Onslow Cole from Truly Yours Holidays.

It’s charity season at Laptops in March and April – our charity membership is awarded free to a local charity; we organise at least one fundraising event for them during their one year term and support their fundraising and events.  In return, we‘re looking for a local charity that has a representative who can attend our monthly meetings and has a good network that they are willing to share with the group.  This month we were joined by Heidi Rolfe from the Emily Ash Trust who gave an extremely moving 60 seconds about the difference her charity can make and why they’d like the charity place.  We are currently taking applications from interested parties at info@laptopsandlipstick.co.uk.

Our extended presentation was brought to us by new member Kate Thompson who educated us all about the benefits of Utilities Warehouse through the medium of bingo!!!
Quote of the Month?

“Alka was professional, personable and a pleasure to deal with.  All the Ps!” Heidi from Emily Ash Trust sings the praises of Alka Bagga from Critical Mission Computing

Our outgoing charity member is Bromley Mencap and they have been fantastically represented by Jane Barnes at our meetings.  Over the past two years we’ve raised a massive £3677 for the charity!!
